I remember walking into The Double Scoop to meet one of my best friends, Jasmine Cronin, and being surprised when this very beautiful woman with the most captivating blue eyes turned around in her chair to look at me as Jasmine called my name. That night, I found myself drawn to this woman, listening to her speak, watching her move. Something about her just held my attention, and it was more than just her appearance. It was almost as if I knew her, but we had never met until that evening. After that meeting, Jewel and I saw each other again several times on the island. She had said she'd been on Morada before, but had little memory of it. She also seemed to be seeking something, but never said what it was she needed to find. I marveled the ease at which she seemed to be with the island and it's inhabitants. It was like it was second nature to her. I finally managed the courage to ask her to accompany me to the park just off of Discovery Road, a popular place for the local children to play and for island residents to stroll on a lazy, sunny day. While there, a pickpocket stole the wallet from Jewel's bag. Once she realized this, she let out a yelp and yelled after the thief. I started to pull out my dagger and prepared to chase him down, but I was amazed by how quickly Jewel chased after him, caught him, and proceeded to beat the living tar out of that miserable pickpocket! She did get the wallet back, and the pickpocket got a trip to the emergency room before the CMPD threw him in a cell. This is when I became totally smitten with this woman. I did finally ask Jewel out on a real date, which went well, and was followed by a stroll around the West End, daggers drawn. The brawler scum never had a chance! Today, we are married, and have a daughter named Nicole. Someday, we hope to have a son as well to carry on the Hit Family name. We're moving on from where we'd left off years ago, when she was named Marilyn Michels. You see, in 1997 she left me alone on the island to be in service to her home country of France, where something very unplesant happened to her, and I was informed that she had been killed in a terrorist bombing. I mourned her loss for years, even seeking solace in marriage to another woman, only to have it end in divorce, and struggle with confusion and emptiness afterward. When Jewel returned to the island, void of any memory of who she once was, yet plagued by strange memories and dreams of a past she didn;t yet know had been hers, I felt an instant attraction to her, and she to me. Neither of us knew why until recently, when she fell very ill, and the fever seemed to open the floodgates holding back all of those memories of her life as Marilyn. If you see Jewel, say hello to her, maybe talk with her some. She's honest, loyal, and will help you out if you need help. She's my sparkling Jewel....my precious gem. |
